Sulfated alkanolamide ethoxylates are excellent detergents, particularly for dishwashing but are too costly and therefore not used. The only known application is in shampoos, and this is now probably being replaced by betaines.
Alcohol ether sulfates are excellent detergents, don’t show loss of detergency in hard water (unlike AS or LABS). Therefore can be used as unbuilt.
